Cheree McAlpine

Cheree McAlpine oversees Intercom’s Legal, Security, Compliance, and Regulatory teams to optimize and align the company’s legal strategy to advance its business objectives. She is a Silicon Valley veteran with over 25 years of legal experience representing global tech companies. She previously served as the Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary for Lumileds Inc., where she managed the Global Legal team and led the company’s successful international trade secret theft lawsuit against Elec-Tech International. Prior to her role at Lumileds, she was the Vice President and General Counsel for the Americas for Avnet, and was also General Counsel for Wyse Technology where she managed the company’s successful sale to Dell, Inc. in 2012.

Cheree has structured and negotiated relationships with many leading companies in the technology industry, including Apple, Dell, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, and VMWare. She writes and speaks about industry issues, and has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the Women of Influence Award, the YWCA Technology Women in Industry Award, the Most Powerful and Influential Women in California Award, and the Multicultural Leadership Award given by the California Diversity Council. Earlier in her career, she was an attorney with Sun Microsystems, and private practice at several national law firms. Cheree holds a law degree from Suffolk University School of Law and a B.A. in English literature from the University of Alabama.
